This packet includes an entire set of partnered speaking, reading, listening and writing activities using an authentic resource.
First, students have to translate questions like "What type of natural disaster?", "Where did it occur?" etc.
Second, students read an infographic about a few very famous natural disasters and collect information in Spanish about the natural disasters they have been assigned.
Third, students are paired and they are the "expert" on two natural disasters. They present their information to their partner and the partner takes down the information on their note sheet. Then the partners switch and the second partner delivers their information.
Fourth, students summarize in Spanish what they have learned from their partner.
Finally, they will use the internet to research a separate natural disaster and they record the important information.
This activity packet goes well with level 2 Realidades, chapter 5 but can accompany any book or unit that uses preterite and/or natural disasters. The entire packet is done in the preterite tense.
