This is an activity to practice speaking in full sentences and phrases in Spanish, for preschoolers through elementary students. It is meant to be used as a follow-up, after singing or teaching the traditional children's song "Los pollitos." The worksheets can be sent home for practice, or they can be used in class. Students color and cut, and then practice Spanish phrases while assembling and gluing. English translations are provided, and directions are provided in English, so that this can be sent home to parents who only speak English. However, if you use this as a class activity, you can demonstrate it, speaking only Spanish. The drawings are original artwork and the game idea was developed by Sra. Baskett from Spring Into Spanish.
I use these drawings to create a big scene that we can do together on the board. Just like on the paper, the mama calls out for her chicks and they appear and answer. Then, we sing "Los pollitos." Students then do this activity. It could even be used for partner work. I recommend printing the pages on cardstock.
