This resource was created in light of the current (as of January 2020) earthquake situation in Puerto Rico. My goal is always to help learners get excited about reading by creating resources to help them read about current events and topics that really speak to them.
Each resource includes a Wordlist to ensure it's comprehensible to any student at any time.
My Word Lists include all non-English words found in the article. That includes both names and cognates with the exact same spelling, because we all have that one kid who will look those up words just in case! As for verbs, third person singular is described as "s/he or it", and both reflexive verbs and auxilliary verbs are listed according to the first letter of the main verb (i.e. "se fue" would be listed under "f", and "ha pasado" would be listed under "p"). Verb phrases will be listed under the first letter of the first main verb.
The Spanish words in the Word List are bolded to visually help the student find what he or she is looking for faster.
There is a link within the document to a free Folder Teaser document with the article name and photos to get students interested.
