This is a 60 page unit study on the text Lost and Found by Andrew Clements. There is one before reading activity. Each chapter has comprehension questions, including at least two short response questions (with evidence statements sentence starters at the bottom of the page), comic strip drawings, vocabulary analysis, visualizing, or summarizing.
There are 6 extended response questions, as well.
I included a variety of character study questions and tables to utilize either during reading, or as a concluding activity. There are also 3 art connection questions and 7 journaling pages to use with any chapter. The 7 journaling pages include:
- Summarizing (Somebody Wanted But So)
- Story Elements
- Sequence Words
- Character Traits
I also included NYS test prep posters that we reference while reading the text including:
- Main Idea
- Context Clues
- Text Features
- Text Structure
There is also a list of suggestions for other extension activities to go along with any novel.
This unit has a variety of questions and activities in order to make differentiation easier.
***This book is about Jay and Ray, two twins who are sick of always being compared or confused or treated as a singular person. They begin a new school and decide to become one person, alternating who attends school each day. Students with siblings can relate tremendously to the conflicts these boys face on a daily basis.
