Character traits, discussion questions, and written responses -This pack includes various language arts activities to accompany the book Louder, Lili by Gennifer Choldenko. This book is a wonderful resource for teaching character traits. There are two very different characters in the book and the kids always love to identify their traits and then compare the characters. We have a great discussion about how even though the two characters are very different (Lili is very quiet, shy, and kind and Cassidy is the exact opposite of Lili) they do have something in common. They are both lonely and want a friend. There are several activities included in the pack that address character traits as well as discussion questions to help students have a deeper understanding of the book and the author's message. These 12 discussion cards can be used in cooperative groups or whole group discussions. This pack also includes various written response sheets where students can show their understanding and thoughts through writing.
This book is always a favorite for my first graders. I hope that your students will enjoy it as much as mine do!
