This is a one page summary of the Louisiana Purchase. It discusses the early history of the territory as it was held by both France and Spain and the importance of the Mississippi River to American settlers. The reading discusses how the land became part of the US during Jefferson's presidency.
Students read the summary and then illustrate the summary in a timeline-type sequence.
This is a different way to gage comprehension. Students get tired of reading and answering questions. This gives them a creative outlet to express what they learned. It can be used a class assignment or as homework.
This product is included in my "US History Summary Reading Bundle".
