This activity/assignments was created for my 8th grade US History I class. In preparation for high school next year, my students will take part in several lecture simulations over the next few months. Before beginning, I explicitly set the with the "I speak, you write" expectation. I allow the last 5 or so minutes for students to meet in their groups to compare their notes. This lecture was supported with a student graphic organizer that mirrors the teacher talking points.
