This bright, engaging POWER-POINT lesson will grab your young elementary music students as it prepares them for learning new rhythm pattern "ta-a." Students will learn a new Valentine's Day song while being introduced to the new concept of the half note or in Kodaly terminology the "ta-a." Included in this POWER-POINT lesson are these listed activities - a beat tapping chart, rhythm tapping charts (with multiple ways of showing the notation of a sound that lasts for 2 heartbeats), song notation with heart icons for note heads as well as song notation with real note heads for notation. Also included is a detailed visual aide and explanation for students on how to understand the concept of the new rhythm pattern "ta-a."
