What educators are saying

This is a great resource for this story! So many different activities that help teach important skills. My kiddos loved making their own robot!

Description

Do you need a week full of fun read aloud lessons and standards-based activities for Valentine's Day? Love, Z by Jessie Sima is a sweet book that you can incorporate into your reading lessons during the month of February. The lessons focus on asking and answering questions, making inferences, making connections, and retelling or recounting a story. The five days of lesson plans each include a scripted mini-lesson, text-dependent questions, an independent practice reader's response task, partner talk, and an exit ticket. Students will also create a Robot Craft to decorate your classroom for Valentine's Day!

I have also created DIGITAL daily reader's response tasks for your distance learning students to complete on Google Slides TM.

This resource includes:

  • easy craft template
  • asking and answering questions, text evidence, making inferences, retell, and recount posters
  • five days lesson plans with a scripted mini lesson, text-dependent questions, an independent practice writing task, partner talk, and an exit ticket
