This packet contains materials to teach students about the history of interracial marriage in the United States.
Students first learn about the history of bans on interracial marriage and the beliefs which were used to support them. This is followed by a detailed look at the case of Loving v. Virginia. Lastly, students learn about developments after the case and use statistics and charts to see how public views about interracial marriage have changed over the years.
Instructions are included for student to create a presentation as well as write a short report on the topic.
