PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Low sol Ready Set Print (Worksheets for the Kodaly inspired classroom) - This set of worksheets is designed to help your students practice low sol in patterns s,l, drm sl. These are great for a quick assessment so that you can easily see which kids are getting it. These are not busy work. There are not a lot of questions on each page, just enough so that you can get a fair snapshot of how the kids are doing. Each of these pages should take five minutes or less. Also a great activity to add to your sub tub so that the kids are still working on something productive while you are away.

This set is also included in the money saving bundle: Solfa {Ready, Set, Print! Bundle}

*The zip file contains a copy to be used for "sol" as well as "so". Just use whichever version you need!

It includes:
- "A New Neighbor on Solfa Street" worksheets. This also comes in a "Melody Street" and "Music Street" version. If you call your solfa street something else, let me know and I will customize it for you. Students show which house is low sol, low la, do re mi sol and la on Solfa Street. Then, they trace low sol, low la, do re mi sol la on the staff.

- "do la, sol, trace & place" Trace in each do and low la on the staff and and place low sol on the correct line or space.

- "Low Sol lives So Low?" - do clef is show in several locations of the staff. Show where low sol would live on each staff.

- "Where in the world is low sol?" worksheet- do is shown on the staff on a line or in a space with do clef. Draw to show where low sol will go.

- "A Solfege Masterpiece" - Color the low sol's blue, low la's purple, the mi's yellow, the re's orange, and the do's red.

- "Canoe Round" - Draw and label the pitches for "dip, dip and swing".

- "Scotland's Burning" Students cut and paste the melodic patterns to put the song in order. Could also have this pre-cut and laminated and use in a center.

- "Low Sol Match Up" Students draw a line to match up the four beat phrase of each song to the correct song title and picture. (answers are from the songs Scotland's Burning, Chicken on a Fencepost, Canoe Round, Weevily Wheat). Sheet music for these four songs is included at the end in case they are not in your folk song collection.

- "Which box did you hear?" - Students draw a line from the number to the 4 beat line of music that the teacher performs. These phrases come from song literature and are notated using standard notation on the staff. Rhythms are just ta and titi so that students may really focus in on the melody and not be overwhelmed by new rhythms.

- "Notate What You Hear" Students use the 4 empty staves to notate the four examples that the teacher performs. You can make up any examples for this. (F do)

- "Notate What You Hear" Students use the 4 empty staves to notate the four examples that the teacher performs. You can make up any examples for this. (G do)

- "Compose your own low sol song" - Students use given rhythms (ta titi half note and syncopa) to create a plan for their own composition by writing s, l, d r m s or l under each one and then moving it down to the staff. They also add stems and beams.
