I use these rubrics to keep data on how my students are progressing in their mastery of reading strategies. I place these on a clipboard and put checks on how well they are performing that strategy during read alouds. I can listen in on their conversations while they think-pair-share or ask them to volunteer their thought during a stopping point. This also keeps accountable for making sure I give all my students the opportunity to participate. They may not all get to participate in one sitting but you can make sure you are not skipping those quiet ones that don't like to share. I use different colors each time so I can ensure students are improving and not regressing. These sheets can help you determine what to confer with your students about.
