This file contains various lessons designed to enhance and complement the study of Lois Lowry's novel, The Giver. The "Perfect World Project" has students work in groups to create their own society with rules to govern, a map, a narrative, a comparison & contrast to 'real-life', and an analysis of its own essential flaws. A "Jobs Assignment" has student analyze how it would feel to be 'selected' for a particular career. There are questions to correlate with the viewing of the movie Pleasantville (viewing discretion involved). Finally, there is a culminating novel test with vocabulary and reading comprehension questions.
