Are you introducing the concept of probability to your class? Are you tired of using dice and spinners? This quick study guide will allow students to understand probability by participating in a classroom lottery. Students can look around the room for each question to determine the probability of each outcome. Because the questions actually involve the entire class I have found that participation is better. The second page can be printed and cut to give to each student as a lottery or raffle ticket. After completing the activity and going over it as a class the teacher can draw names out of a hat for a small prize or classroom incentive.
This worksheet could take 10 minutes - 30 minutes depending on the level of the student and the depth of the conversation.
If you enjoy this study guide I would appreciate any positive feedback you would be willing to leave. Thanks!
