PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This file contains 8 St. Patrick's Day themed math centers for first grade. Each file is aligned to the CCSS and Texas TEKS. Note: I couldn't find a correlating Common Core standard for counting coins and using number lines to reinforce skip counting, but I know those skills are present in the 2nd and kinder standards, so if anything it is reinforcement for first graders.

Each math center comes with a student directions page with visuals and the standards listed. I offered as many color and black and white options as possible to help you with printing.

In this packet you will get:

1. What time is it?: Students practice reading time on an analog clock to the hour and half hour. Recording sheet and answer sheet included.
Standards: CCSS 1.MD.B3, TEKS 1.7E

2. Flip, Spin and Add: Students flip a card, then spin a spinner and add numbers with sums up to 20.
Standards: CCSS 1.OA.C.6, TEKS 1.3F

3. Flip, Spin and Subtract: Students flip a card, then spin a spinner and subtract within 20.
Standards: CCSS 1.OA.C.6, TEKS 1.3F

4. Match, Compare, Record: Students match pictures, read the amount in place value blocks, compare the amounts and record. The sets are within 100.
CCSS 1.NBT.B.3 & TEKS 1.2G, 1.2E

5. Shamrock Number Lines: Students read a number line and figure out the missing numbers. Students fill in the missing number on their recording sheet. Answer key is included.
Standards: TEKS 1.2F

6. What's Missing: Students find the missing number in an equation. Students sort the equations according to their missing number and record.
Standards: CCSS 1.OA.D.8, TEKS 1.3B

7. Pots of Coins: Students figure out the amount of money on each pot and record. The coins are pennies, nickels and dimes only.
Standards: TEKS 1.4C

8. Roll and Cover: Students play in partners. They can play this game as a "Roll and Cover" game or "Roll and Color" game using the black and white version of the game board. Students roll a cube that says "halves" or "fourths". They find a picture on the game board showing halves or fourths and cover or color it.
Standards: CCSS 1.G.A.3, TEKS 1.6H

Please email me with any questions you have before purchasing. I have a kindergarten version of St. Patrick's Day Math Centers with different skills. If you teach a K/1 class or you have students who need modifications and would benefit from the K version, let me know and I can put the first and kinder packet into a bundle for you at a discount.
