PRODUCT DESCRIPTION


This packet contains 8 St. Patrick's Day themed math centers for second graders. Each math center has a student directions page with the standards listed, both Common Core and Texas TEKS. I've included color and black and white versions for many of the game pieces. Here are the games you will get:

1. Leprechaun Addition: Students practice adding up to four two digit numbers. Answer key is included.
Standards: CCSS 2.NBT.B.6, TEKS 2.4B

2. Lucky Subtraction: Students spin two different spinners and make a subtraction problem to solve.
Standards: CCSS 2.NBT.B.6, TEKS 2.4B

3. Guess and Measure: Students measure St. Patrick's Day themed pictures with either inches or centimeters. Answer key included. Pictures come in color or black and white.
Standards: TEKS 2.9D, 2.9E, CCSS 2.MD.A.1, 2.MD.A.3

4. Match 'Em Up: Students practice matching a number in its standard form to that number shown in word form and with place value blocks. A recording sheet is included.
Standards: CCSS 2.NBT.A.3, TEKS 2.2B

5. St. Patrick's Day Party: Students solve word problems with money. Recording sheet and answer key included.
Standards: CCSS 2.MD.C8, TEKS 2.5AB

6. Match, Compare, Record: Students match up pictures, compare the amounts on each card and record a math sentence comparing the two numbers.
Standards: CCSS 2.NBT.A.4, TEKS 2.2D

7. Place Value Pots: Students play against each other to create the largest number possible. There are two versions of the pots. One version has hundreds, tens and ones, the other version thousands, hundreds, tens and ones. Recording sheet included.
Standards: CCSS 2.NBT.A.1, 2.NBT.A.4, TEKS 2AD

8. Roll and Cover Fractions: There are two versions of this game. One version is created with the TEKS in mind where students have to identify halves, fourths and eighths. The other version is created for Common Core. In the Common Core game they identify halves, thirds and fourths. Both games come in a color and black and white version.
