This set is based on a game I play with my students to get them to think of all the ways numbers can be represented. There is a large game set for you to play with students as the counting pieces! If the number five is drawn, you choose five students to represent the group, then yell, "Ready, Set, SPLIT!" Students run to the bond spots to make the smaller groups that equal five. Try it again and again until all combinations have been made for five. My kids love this! Common Core addition standards for K are addressed with these games and activities. There are also recording sheets and opportunities for tracing/writing the addition sentences, or for "magic writing" the numbers with white crayon and a water color wash. My students love activities such as this. The centers size set is perfect for practicing number grouping.
