Here are two great resources to use with your kiddies during writing workshop! It is the second unit in the Lucy Calkins writing program which is based around informational writing. These anchor charts can be projected on your Smartboard, displayed around the room, and even given out to your students to remind them while they write! They are great tools to bring into your classroom. Even if you do not use Lucy Calkins writing program you can use these in your classroom for writing information stories!
Includes following anchor charts:
To Write Like a Scientist (x3)
In Procedures (x2)
In Conclusions (x2)
Words Science Experts Use

To Put More Information in Informational Writing (x3)
Stars and Wishes
The second half of the file is the lab report booklet!
I created this product as a graphic organizer to use during the lab report section of Lucy Calkins Writing Unit 2 about information pieces. I felt the students needed more structure and an eye-catching booklet to keep them focused and more successful through this unit.
Pages in the lab report include:
-Step 1: Question
-Step 2: Hypothesis
-Step 3: Procedure ( 2 pages: 1 to draw it out and one step by step page)
-Step 4: Results
-Step 5: Conclusion
