Fill ‘Er Up
Today you will be completing an activity to see how the respiratory and circulatory systems work together. You will be blowing up a balloon in ONE BREATH. Then you will hold the balloon and have someone measure the circumference (the distance around). Next, you will run in place for one minute. This will get your pulse rate up, meaning your heart will be working a lot harder to pump the blood. After running in place for one minute, you will blow up the balloon again in ONE BREATH. Finally, measure the circumference of the balloon. You will want to find the difference in the circumference.
