MA3 for Jr. High and ESL - Social Problems in an Industrial Society
This is written as a two week lesson for junior high and ESL students. The lesson covers inequalities in the South during the Reconstruction period, including the Reconstruction Amendments and the "Black codes" passed by the legislatures in the southern states. The lesson also cover the efforts of farmers to organize, the difficulties in labor relations in many industries, including attempts at labor union and strikes. Political corruption and the role of urban political machines are discussed. The lesson contains four separate reading assignments, each with key vocabulary terms, comprehension question, and an essay question. The lesson also contains map identification, a fill in the blank review, a time line, chart for graphing activity, and a lesson quiz.
