MA5 for Jr. High and ESL - The Progressive Era
This is written as a two week lesson for junior high and ESL students. The lesson covers the period of the late 19th and early 20th century when reformers sought to use the power of state and the federal government to curb the dominance of powerful and corrupt businesses. The lesson contains four separate reading assignments, each with key vocabulary terms, comprehension question, and an essay question. The lesson also contains map identification, an essay assignment on mandatory education and regulation for working by minors, an essay with study questions on the benefits of political machines during this period, a fill in the blank review, and two quizzes.
