I used these goal cards with my first grade students last year. We were required to have students set goals for the MAP assessments we take three times a year.
You could set the goal to be the benchmark on-level score, a goal you set with/for the students, or the students set themselves.
I copied these on colored paper and students took them to the computer lab on the days of MAP testing to remind themselves to take their time, try hard, and aim for the goal. You can have them color in the smiley face that corresponds to their score.
I copied the reading and math front and back. You can fold the paper in half so only the current testing period is showing.
If you don’t like the smiley faces/wording I used – change it! It’s completely editable! Make it work for you!
