Description
An effective way to engage students is by playing games. Match IT! is a great way to encourage their note-reading development and for the teacher to formatively assess them. Simply cut out the cards and paste the 'cover' card (treble clef + number) to a 'face' card (staff or letter name/word). It would be best laminate each completed card to ensure their longevity. Students place cards on the table face down and attempt to match the correct notes and note-words (similar to memory matching games). I have included numbered cards and non-numbered cards, accommodating for different cognitive memory levels.
