A SUPER MATH SUCCESS! Right from the start of the school year I recruit students to become Math Ambassadors to assist the entire class in mastering math skills.

Having Math Ambassadors in your classroom boost math mastery with all students.

Teachers, you already have a hotbed of talent to assist you in bringing all students to becoming masters of math.

Class Math Ambassadors work so well in my classroom, that they are invited to go other classrooms to present to the whole class, to small groups and one-on-one.

Imagine having Student Math Ambassadors presenting “Hi-Powered Mental Math” to every grade level at your school.

Set up and training on your part is minimal. Your Math Ambassadors are already tech savvy. They have already mastered the skills they will present.

Once the word gets out, my Math Ambassador students are invited to every grade level and many classrooms to engage the students with hi-tech interactive math presentations. The results, the feedback, and the impact on the whole school is astounding. Local news media will want to be involved.

Math Ambassadors serve as guest professors who visit classrooms and collaborate with students and teachers to work through a math activity. They combine peer interaction, think aloud responses, talk-through-errors strategy, and on-screen technology to excite, engage, and involve the entire class.

Here’s a great all-inclusive resource for every teacher, Math Coach, and Curriculum Specialist to help your school get excited about math. It includes 2 complete interactive “Think Aloud” lessons geared to collaboration and accountable math talk.

Do you need to impress the administrators, your parents, and your students? Do what I did. I started in my classroom and had my selected students present my interactive resources. Everyone loved it. Collaboration, accountable talk plus enthusiasm—we called the presenters, Math Ambassadors, and used them almost weekly. Teachers invited my Math Ambassadors to present in their classes. The results were amazing.

For the last two years my STEM group became Math Ambassadors and they are excited to go to classes. The STEM kids see Math Ambassadors as an extension of what they have been doing all year and the students in the classroom can see themselves doing the same thing. “If they can do it, so can I”, is a statement I hear all the time from their peers.

Math Ambassadors can be kids in your class who collaborate with each other. They can be Math Buddies who are paired with another class. They become traveling professors to share a math activity. They might be Gifted Students, a STEM group (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, MATH), a Math Club who presents to School, Parent, and Community Groups. The lessons will support standards and 21st Century Skills. The enthusiasm is contagious!

There is NO DOWNSIDE to implementing the Math Ambassadors concept at your school or adapting Math Ambassadors to your class.
