Description

Math games are one of the quickest ways to motivate students! These back to school 5 math centers are perfect to kick off your math instruction at the beginning of the school year. The centers are low-prep, and highly engaging. Place it at your next math station for instant fun!

The centers are designed to introduce students to some of the math manipulatives that they will be using through the school year such as math cubes, geometric pattern blocks, rulers, base-ten blocks, and play money.

The concepts covered in the 5 centers are:

  • STATION 1: Finding two or more ways to break up a number into smaller, equal groups (foundations for multiplication and division)
  • STATION 2: Measuring every day objects with a ruler.
  • STATION 3: Creating designs using geometric pattern blocks, and identifying the geometric shapes used in their design.
  • STATION 4: Place value - building numbers with base-ten blockscomparing
  • STATION 5: Money (and creating the value with play money)
