### Description

Give your students the chance to build their own city from scratch with MATHVILLE!

In this project students will go through 6 phases where you will measure, calculate, cut, color, build, paste, and use your math problem solving skills to construct the city from scratch. Students will calculate the base area, surface area and volume of 3d figures (last two are optional depending on grade level). The nets form the buildings of the city, their base area will help the students know the location of each building on the map by matching the areas. Students will be able to use their creativity by adding final touches to their city to make it more realistic!

This project comes with:

-5 worksheets for phases 1-5 so students can show their calculations and answers.

-12 nets that students must take measurements of to calculate their dimensions,

-Materials list (scissors, glue, a ruler, colors, and other optional materials),

-Student instructions page,

-Teacher instructions and tips,

-Complete project in plain white or graph paper background,

This resource comes with a digital version in Google Slides with access via Google Classroom.

*This is a long project, it usually takes me and my students over a week to finish it. We usually do one phase per period (50 minutes), and an extra day for final touches and presentation.
