Use these tracking sheets to keep up with your students’ progress in MClass TRC and Dibels.
The students love seeing their charts (I fill them out as soon as I do the assessment with the child in my Guided Reading Group). They love being able to see their progress and know when they have reached a goal. This is a great tool to use to help students set goals and to use for parent conferences.
I keep a binder for each of my Guided Reading groups. Each student has a piece of cardstock that is kept in that folder. Each group is named by color and the students within that group have a piece of cardstock that is the same color. (Red group=red cardstock) After the Beginning of Year Assessment I print a corresponding TRC and Dibels sheet and glue it onto the cardstock. If students move to a new guided reading group through the year I can easily see what group they started in based on the color of their cardstock.
On each piece of cardstock goes one Dibels Progress Monitoring sheet and one TRC Progress Monitoring sheet. As I progress monitor I use a highlighter to create a graph of their progress. I don’t like having a “0” level on a bar graph, but I have found that if I don’t highlight the score when they receive a “0” I get confused-thinking that I forgot to record their score. Since some assessments have a wide range of numbers I have numbered them in increments. I write the students numerical score in the highest box. If a score is a 27, but the increments are at 25 and 30 I highlight to 25 and write a 27 in the box.
