This is the second of the Meet the Masters Series of art lessons. This lesson exercises reading, vocabulary, art history, drawing, and shading. This lesson is designed for students to learn the skill of shading and blending color. The materials needed are only color pencils, baby oil and cotton swabs. It is recommended that this lesson be printed out on card stock paper but it is not necessary. This lesson incorporates art history in a meaningful manner and is designed for two 90 minute classes. This lesson may be taught to 6th graders right up to seniors in high school.
