It’s research project time! Our project is called MeSearch because students will have the opportunity to choose the topics. The new standards for assessment will require students to gather information from multiple sources, write a five-paragraph paper in one class period, and create a visual presentation to accompany the paper. Students will be given a list of instructions each day and will be expected to figure out how to complete the tasks by the end of each class period.
Monday Step 1: Choose a heart, respiratory, and organ disease to research and compare
Tuesday Step 2: iPad research – a dozen facts for each category and cite multiple sources
Wednesday Step 3: Produce a 5P paper using your research, the 5P format, and editing checklist
Thursday Step 4: Create a 20-slide presentation to accompany your paper using only photos
Friday Step 5: Presentation skills: Insert cues in your paper where slides should advance
Formal presentations should begin the following week. Students must bring their project each day and be prepared to present when chosen. A microphone and podium should be used.
