Product Description
MLA formatting is one of the most difficult citation formats that students need to learn. This two page handout will guide your students with correctly formatting their parenthetical citations in MLA format in the 5 most basic situations that could arise.

Direct quotes from fictional short stories, poems and books are used as examples under each of the basic situations that may arise including:

*Stating the authors name in the sentence starter
*Stating the authors name in the parenthetical citation
*Two or three authors of the same resource
*No author listed
*Poetry

As a bonus, students are given 8 examples of possible sentence starters for their direct quote.

Print this back to back on brightly colored paper or cardstock for your students to use as a resource throughout the school year!
