Writing a paper using Microsoft Word is not difficult for a person with word-processing skills. However, one can save time and ensure that the format has the appropriate parameters by using an MLA template. Many of the free templates found on the internet contain errors or are not updated with the changes required by the most recent version of the MLA Handbook, the eighth edition. You can adapt this template and share it with your students. Specifically, this template contains the following handy features: running header, Times New Roman 12 font, 1 inch margins, left alignment (with the exception of essay and Works Cited page titles), indented paragraph, and hanging indent for the works cited.
