Students are asked to find each MLB Stadium using Google Earth. Give only the NL, only AL or both conferences of team stadiums! After being shown the 3D images and interacting with each building, students will record the provided coordinates, or absolute location, and then find the city where each stadium resides to enhance understanding of relative location. Once the geography aspects are recorded, students are encouraged to write the team that plays in that stadium, as well as research the history of the team name using primary and secondary sources. Students then get to choose a fun-fact about each team or a player from that team! Google Earth provides students with multiple links to this information as a starting point. This activity is a student-centered lesson with many opportunities for adaptations, discussion and individual choices. Answer keys are included!
