Review or introduce Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with this interactive match game. Students must find the match to facts about this Civil Rights leader. This is great for a small group activity or a whole group review. The game can be played on the computer or the smart board. Students can select two tiles. If they match - great! If they don't match, they flip the tiles back over and try again (or go to the next student!)
This is a fun product for the classroom or the Media Center. I will use it to celebrate MLK Day by reading a book about Martin Luther King, Jr. and then playing this game with the whole class. My students love playing these games!
This would also be good to use during Black History Month and is a great way to introduce MLK Jr.
This product applies to SS2H1: The student will read about and describe the lives of historical figures in Georgia history.
a. Identify the contributions made by these historic figures: James Oglethorpe,
Tomochichi, and Mary Musgrove (founding of Georgia); Sequoyah (development
of a Cherokee alphabet); Jackie Robinson (sports); Martin Luther King, Jr. (civil
rights); Jimmy Carter (leadership and human rights).
To start, simply open the file as read only and play the slideshow from beginning. Once the board opens you can start selecting tiles.
