The students start with their game piece (M&M's) on the starting point. The first student will pick a game piece and launch forward to that spot. The student will have to read the word correctly, write it on a white board, scoop the syllables, and mark any welded sounds, bonus letters, or digraphs. If the student does this correct they remain on their space. If they get it incorrect they will have to move back to their previous spot. If the student picks a "move back one spot" piece they will move their piece back on spot. The student can earn back the spot that they had to leave by correctly marking the word on their white board. This is a fun and exciting way for students to practice and apply their knowledge of phonetic structures!
