Product Description
Monthly Monsters are a great and engaging way to develop and practice vocabulary in speech therapy and then as a take-home activity. At the beginning of each month, print off a Monthly Monster of the student’s choice and then print off the pictures that you want the student to work on. With diverse groups, each student in the group can work on their own target vocabulary while still doing the same activity. Included are clothing items, school items, food and animals. Sixty or more black and white pictures for each vocabulary category are contained in this download. I have the students cut out the pictures and as they cut and paste, practice naming whatever word they are gluing on to each number. When appropriate I also ask students to answer one or more of the following questions:

Where do you see/wear it?
When do you eat/wear/use it?
What does it do or What do you do with it?
What category is it in? (i.e. food/ vegetable/ fruit/dessert/ farm animal, wild animal/ winter clothing etc.)
Describe the object.

Once all the spaces are filled with pictures the student cuts out the Monthly Monster and glues it where it says "glue" and folds it up (accordion like) to make our fun and giant Monthly Monsters.
I then like to send this home with the kids. Parents can practice all the words each day with the student. This would then be home practice for an entire month.
