Contained in this packet are letter cards to spell “MOVIES” an acronym for the six traits of writing. The order of the traits in this acronym does not signify the importance of the trait. Care should be taken to not emphasize any one trait. All are deemed important for a piece of writing to be considered GOOD.
M= mechanics (this trait combines conventions and presentation)
E= exceptional word choice
S= sentence fluency
Also in the packet are six trait name cards and six mini-posters listing the attributes for the traits.
When constructed this mini-display (approx. ½ typical bulletin board size) serves as a learning aid and resource for upper elementary students as they write.
