An activity and worksheet to assist your children in learning about the 2 times table. Children make the groups using counters, draw the groups and write the times table equations and answer.
I use this is my lower math's group to allow the children to make, see, skip count and answer. They enjoy playing with the counters and lining them up in the right array. We circle the groups with our fingers. It is important I believe that children just do not rote learn their times tables but understand what they look like.
An array is an ordered arrangement. Materials are an important part of mathematics. Children should be able to use materials so that they can visually see their strategies. It becomes a game and children do not realize they are learning. I use a variety of counter types to keep their interest up.
This worksheet could also be used as an assessment.
