This is one of my Anatomy students' favorite labs! Students place paper muscles (included) on a paper skeleton (included) by their insertions & origins. The muscles are shaped & fitted just for this skeleton so that they really work when the students manipulate them. The muscles are only taped at the insertion and origin. The middle of the muscle is then pinched or pulled & this causes the bone to extend, flex, etc. This lab also reinforces the skeletal system & anatomical terminology because students have to know which bones & where on the bone to place the muscle. The skeleton & muscles can be laminated to use class after class or even year after year.
Included with this lab:
1 Skeleton (Skeleton can be run on 2 sheets of regular 8 1/2 by 11" copy paper)
1 sheet of muscles which includes: Biceps brachii, Triceps brachii, Quadriceps, Hamstrings, Flexor carpi ulnaris, Gastrocnemius, Tibialis anterior, & Extensor digitorum.
