Music -Duration Terms
This resource was originally created for my senior class of 2013. I wanted to try the Flipped classroom model as a way of completing work at a much quicker rate. It worked!!! We tore through each concept very quickly and with a lot more depth. The students combined the screencast with other learning opportunities I provided them, but the screencasts were the most popular method of learning. My students told me that they loved the flexibility and availability of them because they felt like they had a teacher at their fingertips!!!!
This is a PDF of the powerpoint that accompanies my screencast on this concept that can be found on YouTube (where you will hear my very Aussie accent!). I use the screencast itself as either a lesson or homework for my students – I use it both ways depending on the class. These terms are in the order they appear on the screencast.
There are duplicate slides with the US and British note name versions – be sure to print only the ones you want!
You can print off the slides as a whole page to use as a word wall or print them smaller to use as cooperative learning cards.
I use these terms with my 9-12 Music classes to teach each concept before completing the Music Analysis Assignment, that is also available at my store.
Please note this is the first in a series of this type of resource. I will be posting each concept over the next week or so, then I will have a bundle of them available, so if you would like a bargain, just wait for the bundle to be available!
