MUSICAL EMOTIONS CARDS
Use these cards depicting common emotions to
encourage students to express feelings vocally
or on an instrument.
Teacher holds up a card as the students are
singing or playing a song. Students respond by
singing or playing in the manner depicted on the
card.
Students particularly enjoy the angry card!
Combine them with the Kodaly based songs and
song cards, or use them in Suzuki group lessons.
CONTRAST CARDS
These cards depict contrasts in music:
high-low pitch; fast-slow; loud-soft.
Teacher holds up a card as the students are
singing a song. They must obey the card’s
instruction.
Combine them with the Kodaly based songs or
in Suzuki group lessons.
SONG QUIZ
Questions for songs written on the staff
to increase visual awareness.
Cut out the song quiz cards. Give each student
a card to answer, or ask from this sheet.
