5 pages of question/answer blocks to guide the interviewer through tough questions. 2 pages of presentations planners for writing Great Opening Lines for each slide or smooooooth transitions. Part of the CCSS standards of speaking, listening, reading, and writing, this project is one that families will keep as an heirloom. Questions like: What was your most treasured gift as a child? Which year was your favorite or worst and why does it stick out in your memory?
Kids are amazed that grandparents were thrilled to receive fruit in their stockings on Christmas morning. Homemade gifts are still treasured after decades. Every year, this project is the favorite.
I ask students to interview older people for a greater comparison. Then students create a PP or Prezi and use the interview answers to write a story of that person's past. We present our projects during the last week of school before break.
You will LOVE this project.
