This project is designed for students in grade 2-3 French immersion or for older grades in Core French. Students will be asked to design and build their very own haunted house!
Students will draw a plan for their haunted house, and then build it using a cereal box. There is a written component with some questions to answer about their creation, and then finally, an oral presentation of their spooky home! Another fun idea is to invite other classes to walk through your "spooky neighbourhood" (all of the haunted houses set up in your classroom at the end of October).
This download contains a letter to parents about the project, a rubric for the oral presentation (in both English and French, so you can choose which to send home), a reminder note for students to bring in their cereal boxes, a planning sheet, and a template for the written component. Please note, the whole download is available as a preview to give you a chance to see what you are purchasing. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask before purchasing.
I do this project every year with my grade 2 students, and it is a huge success every time. When we do our class memory book at the end of the year, this often comes back as my students’ favourite project!
I hope it is just as much of a success in your classroom!
