We never seem to have enough time to do it all, so why not kill two birds with one stone and review grammar skills as you review the play with your students? At the beginning of every class, I begin with a quick review of the scenes we covered the day before. The exercises that follow will allow me to do so as I give my students added practice with some of the most common grammar errors.
The sentences for the exercises focus primarily on plot; I did not want the pages to have ideas, analysis or interpretations that I want students to arrive at themselves.
The grammar exercises focus on:
Act One: commonly confused words , fused sentences and fragments
Act Two: a combo of all of the above
Act Three: pronoun, modifier and comma errors
Act Four: faulty parallel structure
Act Five: a combo of all of the above.
Answer keys are included. I have also included handouts that cover each error—these are meant to be review; more extensive teaching of the concept may be necessary.
