Teaching Macbeth? This assignment works well after students have finished reading the play. Students work in groups to complete a specific group task, and present their findings in an interesting and interactive manner to the class. There are seven different topics for groups to choose from. Topics range in difficulty, and include options such as : performing a character analysis of Lady Macbeth, exploring the paradoxical nature of humans, locating examples for the theme of power/ambition, and identifying key elements of the heroic monomyth. Each topic comes with multiple prompts to get students thinking.
It's an easy way to engage students, allow them to work in groups, prove their knowledge of Macbeth, and practice their oral presentation skills.
