This Word document is a summary of Macbeth in "Fill in the Blanks" format. There are 11 pages for students to complete. When they have completed this task, they will have an excellent knowledge of events, and a useful revision summary of the play which they have created themselves.
This is a good way to ensure that students have a good understanding of the plot. It could be used for assessment, or for revision. I generally use this after reading, but before students are asked to attempt more challenging activities. Most students enjoy doing this - there's an easily earned sense of achievement. It's a lot less difficult than writing their own scene summaries.
Each scene is a separate cloze procedure. There is a word bank at the end of each scene to assist students. You could easily remove the word banks to make the activity more challenging.
The 9 page solution is also included (20 pages in total).
Download the preview file to see the cloze tests for Act 1, Scene 1 and Act 3, Scene 1. Even if you don't purchase my product, this will give you a couple of short activities which your students will enjoy.
