This 8-page EDITABLE document helps students organize all the main plot points, as well as instances of the four main themes (blind ambition, deception, corruption by power, and superstition and the supernatural). There are fill-in-the-blank questions for each scene that cover basic plot. Additionally, I have included a 9-page document that gives discussion questions and answers that correlate to both this organizer and the final test I gave (available at the link below).
My students would answer these individually as we listened to the play, and then at the end of each scene or whenever we stopped to discuss, I'd take any questions on any of them. My class wrote an essay on theme at the end of the unit, so this organizer helped them a ton when they brainstormed examples of their chosen theme - you could adjust those pages to focus on character traits, important quotes, or whatever your class will need to be able to look back and find quickly.
A key is included!
Get the unit plan, the test (with key), the scene-by-scene organizer (with key), the in-class reading discussion questions (with answers), the supplemental “missing scene” assignment, two quote analysis assignments, and the assignment sheet and rubric for the final essay in the Teaching Macbeth Bundle
