This file contains four Macbeth activities. The first is a reading guide for Macbeth's monologue in Act 1, scene 7, and the second is a reading guide for Macbeth's opening monologue in Act 3. The Act 3 guide includes 2 discussion questions at the end to help students understand Macbeth's fears and emotional state at this point in the play. These two activities help students to translate the monologue and process it as they go. These two activities work great in small groups after the class has read them together. These reading guides help them delve deeper into Shakespeare's language and understand Macbeth's character on a deeper level. The third activity is a reading guide for Act 3, scenes 1 and 2. This is also designed to be completed after reading the scenes. It includes 12 questions. The final activity is a graphic organizer for organizing the scenes in Act 5. It focuses on summarizing, explaining the significance of each scene, and identifying important quotations.
