These are most of the materials I have used when teaching Macbeth:
- unit calendar (to give an idea on pacing)
- scene-by-scene organizer
- discussion questions and answers
- two quote analysis assignments
- FUN missing scene assignment
- FUN meme assignment
- summative test
- assignment sheet and rubric for an essay at the end of the unit
The scene-by-scene organizer helps students organize all the main plot points using fill-in-the-blank questions, as well as instances of the four main themes (blind ambition, deception, corruption by power, and superstition and the supernatural).
The quote analysis worksheets have students look at the literal and deeper meanings of a quote, as well as the quote's significance within the work.
The missing scene assignment has students craft the lines from a missing scene in Macbeth. They have four choices.
The meme gives students a website to create their own Macbeth meme with. An example is included on the directions page. I love to hang these in the hallway for the remainder of the unit.
The summative test contains 30 questions covering the entire play through questions about characters' actions and their motivations, basic plot points, and the four main themes.
Answers for discussion questions and keys for the scene-by-scene organizer and the summative test are included!
