Macromolecule Cut and Paste Activity: Organic Compounds: Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, Nucleic Acids
This is a great hands on activity where students will cut out the characteristics of Carbohydrates, Proteins, Lipids, and Nucleic Acids. Once they cut out each characteristic they will glue it to one of the 4 macromolecule categories.
-32 cut and paste characteristics
-Blank gluing sheet for each macromolecule.
-Answer key for teacher (could be printed and used for study cards or on the projector)
Next Generation Science Standards
LS1.A: Structure and Function: Systems of specialized cells within organisms help them perform the essential functions of life. (HS-LS1-1)
Standards: CA 1h Students know that most macromolecules (polysaccharides, nucleic acids, proteins, lipids) in cells and organisms are synthesized from a small collection of simple precursors.
