This biology resource provides instructions for making a class set of macromolecule “wheels” to use in 9th or 10th grade biology classes. The wheels are the perfect hands-on activity. Students have fun learning the structure and function of the carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. The wheels can be used to learn, reinforce, and assess macromolecules. You can change the characteristics you want your students to know to accommodate different student levels by editing the “words for wheels” document. The step by step instructions are easy to follow and “tweak” for your curriculum. My students begin using the wheels along side Macromolecule Reading and Guided Notes.
